Competition Terms and Conditions of Entry
The promoters of this competition are Word Up North, Skipton Town Hall and North Yorkshire Libraries and Information Service.
1. The competition is open to children [aged 12 and under], who are residents of the United Kingdom, except for children of employees of the promoters or anyone else professionally connected with this competition. Entrants must have the permission of a parent or guardian to enter.
2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
3. The competition opens at 9am on 13 February 2026. The closing date is midnight on 5 March 2026. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
4. Entries can be handed in to reception at Skipton Town Hall or posted to Word Up North, 2nd Floor, Fairfax House, 38 The Grove, Ilkley, LS29 9EE. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
5. Entries must include: entrant’s name, age, address and the name, telephone number and email of the entrant’s consenting parent or guardian.
6. Competition entrant and consenting parent/guardian agrees to the use of the entrant’s name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry, including on social media. Any personal data relating to the winner, or any other entrants, will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

7. By entering this competition, an entrant and consenting parent or guardian is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
8. The prize is one (1) copy of Winnie-the-Pooh, (1) copy of Winnie-the-Pooh: The House at Pooh Corner; (1) copy of Winnie-the-Pooh: Once There Was a Bear; (1) copy of Winnie-the-Pooh: Tales from the Forest. There are three (3) Prizes to be won and there will be three (3) winners of this competition. The prize is kindly donated by HarperCollins Publishers. No cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are not transferable.
9. Winners will be chosen at random from the complete and correct entry forms received. If no correct entry forms are received the winner will be elected from the forms received with the highest number of correct answers.
10. The winner[s] will be notified by email, phone or letter within 28 days of the closing date. Winners will be required to response within 10 days of notification.
11. The winner’s name will be available 28 days after closing date by emailing the following address: hello@wordupnorth.org.uk
12. The promoter[s]’ decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
13. The promoter[s] in their absolute discretion modify, amend, cancel or suspend these terms and conditions at any time if they deem necessary or if circumstances arise beyond their control.
14. The promoter[s] accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered as a result of entering this competition or accepting the prize.
15. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
